How To Speed Up Your Computer - #2

Welcome to the second edition of my "How To Speed Up Your Computer" series. So here's what's up. In addition to all of my other videos, I will post a video to this series 2-4 times a week. Sound good?

In this episode, I walk you through the process of improving your computers performance by tweaking, well; the performance options. Once again, this is a little bit on the elementary side, so for you advanced guys I promise to have something a bit trickier in the coming weeks.

There are two methods for doing this. I'm going to explain method one, but if you have GodMode enabled; you can use the more simple method. See my last video for details on how to activate GodMode.

    STEP ONE
Open the start menu. Run a search for "appearance".

    STEP TWO
Select "Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows"

    STEP THREE

Check the box that says "Adjust for best performance"

    STEP FOUR

    Click OK to save changes.

Your computer should now appear to be running Windows 97. I promise, it will still work just as well as it did before. If you've got 4GB of RAM and up, this shouldn't be necessary. It does make a noticeable difference if you have all the fancy things off however.

WARNING: You are welcome to check and uncheck options to suit your needs, but I warn you that some visuals need other visuals to operate properly. Windows, for some unknown reason; does not inform you of this when you hit the OK button.

Should you make a mistake while doing this and something harmful happens to your computer, I am not in any way responsible. This thread is for educational purposes only and the information in it should only be utilized at your own risk.
