This Traveler guy is a clown. The Mac price is not $7100, it is more like $5,500. What is this clone piece of crap, from where, what Displays, brand????? If price were it, the debate would be over but its not. Buy crap, use crap, create crap. If Apple is so over priced, why do they continue to make money, and be insanely profitable? It must be the millions of gullible, stupid people who just keep buying into the hype...like me! Keep driving the Hyundai and I'll keep driving my Audi.

Mac's are user friendly, that's why they sell. Any idiot who managed to pass their junior high computer class can use a Mac. A PC is for someone who wants a PERSONAL computer, not a MAC. You get a mac, and you're using OSX, thats all you have. Any pc running windows, or even linux is customizable to an extent apple could only dream of. PC's are cheaper, and they do more. It's the brand name that keeps people buying their products. That and the fact i 10 year old can use a mac to it's full capabilities.

I'm more of a PC fan cause I'm an IT student and thats what we train on but for the record U can right click on a MAC...U just hold control and then click, after that a menu just like the right click menu pops up where U can do Copy, Paste, Properties...things like that. Gotta know the tricks of the trade... lol

The facts are simple; If you want a quick, easy to use, secure, and safe computer for simple work, and or applications then the apple is your best bet and If you have the money go for it. Now if you wish to go for a cheaper and more versatile method; and have the know how you can do some amazing things with the PC. A Mac if obsolete is useless and must be replaced a PC can be refurbished over and over as long as the vendor is still in business. Apple has never been a super compatible computer with its major flaw being that back in the 90's the Macintosh was a bulky and odd contraption with ports never seen before and all of its equipment was only compatible with the model you had.Apple has always been to much into controlling there product as well. They even control what apps you can use and have become the music industries best friend by controlling the illegal downloading of music on to there merchandise. I feel that apple is too controlling and difficult to upgrade. Now if you mod your ipod or otherwise then maybe but there are risks and i have ruined many apple products trying to go around there limitations. Also apple has a kill switch in there products that drives me mad.I personally love Linux and all open source software. Free or cheap software with easy to change coding is amazing and for a college student with loans and more to deal with essential if i want to ever use a computer. Windows used to be my favorite operating system but when I needed an operating system for my custom built computer and realized how much it was I realized loading a Hard Drive with Linux was some much more cost effective. I also have an old Win 98 computer that I used to work on but became to old and I had to retire it. After a few months of classes and some help from a friend I realized that I could recommission it and make it better than my moms store bought computer. I bought a high end processor better than anything you dinky little Mac could ever do and then a new set of RAM and for a fraction of the Mac's cost i rebuilt a computer and made it work better than yours. Now I did have to get a few other things like a graphics card and such but in the end I saved a load of money and did it all on my own. Also if you have Linux you are using an open source OP system and have access to some of the best FREE software in the world. Some of which rivals that of the brand name product. Also you can run Linux on nothing more than 8 Gigs and that can be a removable drive if you wish. So to summaries: The big controversy and help clarify the reason why I hate everything Apple. Its over priced. Has too many limitations. Difficult to upgrade. Very incompatible with many none Apple products and software. Most importantly its history. If you have ever been in a computer field before the 2000's then you understand the lack of reliability and sheer frustration of having parts that wont work together from good old apple computers. So you keep buying your expensive Brand name pretty and nice little computer and I will keep building my over clocked power house that cost no more than 2 thousand and has no limitations but the laws of physics them selves. PC WINS enough said.

      The answer is very simple..

All virus programmers seek to create the ultimate code of distruction, but what sort of damage can be done to a brand of computers (apple mac) which is merely 10% of the market??

Hence Windows being the prime target...

I personally favor Linux...my decision needs neither introduction or explenation -- rogers91 pretty much did all the work for me..

Yes, it is possible to install OSX on your average PC nowadays. One word.. ~~ Hackintosh ~~

I don't see a reason why someone would, given the alternatives and escpecially after reading this thread..

He means "Can become a Mac" and "Upgradable" , separate the two. You can install the Mac OS X on it and you can upgrade the computer.

You can buy a PC, install Mac OS X on it and bam you saved 1000$ or more? What's the point of buying a Mac now? A fancy mouse...?

Simple; don't download some random file you found while searching google when you really have no clue if the file is legitimate or not. Or, there's websites that scan files before you even download them.

Or get an antivirus? Don't pay hundreds or thousands of dollars more so you have an OS that doesn't get viruses.

At this rate the number of people " just buying into the the hype" is really what apple has been banking on. Sure there was a time where apple seemed light years head of Microsoft , but that seems like less of a reality now.... especially after seeing the i pad and new iphone.

The company is smart and has realized they could literally sell Steve job's fart in a bag and have people camped out side apple stores nation wide waiting to buy it. They release a new iteration of the same 4 products every year and people gobble them up with out batting an eye.... THAT is why they are insanely profitable.

What is the configuartio for this win Pc ? mainboard and other hardware? thanks

Ok, now to set it straight.Mac - Built on Unix, you have heard of it, yes?PC - Play Computer, built for retards and video games.Linux - Better than Windows, but still a "dumbed down" version of Unix (Unix that Mac runs on, the best of the best), it was "dumbed down" so it would run properly on a PC.For starters, Mac is not the best out there, but blows PC out of the water.Yes, you can get a PC with the same SPECS as a MAC for cheaper (RAM, HD, etc.) But that extra money goes to better quality hardware, and an OS that ACTUALLY WORKS!!!!Yes, you can install MAC OS on a PC, but its slow, its still running on a system that was built for crap.Yes, you can run Windows on a MAC, but why would you? other than the fact that it runs faster on Apple hardware. And for the grand finale, why don't MACs get virus's or malware?because the people writing the malware ARE ON A FUCKING MAC!I think that about sums it up.
